Birds will wake you, normally before your kids will, and you'll be sang to sleep by the frogs and crickets.
Playground and activities help keep a bit of adult breathing time, while movie nights allow an evening break to wind down.
Also, if you're staying in one of their cabins, make sure you check for any damage early on. They will call you at home and demand money to pay for any damage that they say you might have caused. Even if it was not your fault.
Great Campground. Owners are nice and helpful. Very clean and well maintained. Clean bathrooms and all needed amenities are available. I go in the fall with some buddies and we have fun in the rustic sites in the back. This was my first time camping here with my young kids and there are many family friendly things to do. The pool is very nice and my son loved the inflatable jumping house too. The playground and animals were also big favorites.
Poor overall condition of the grounds. In the middle of nowhere. Seems put together in a very hodge podge fashion. Would not recommend.
We drove nearly 5 hours to visit this KOA and it was absolutely worth it. My husband, myself and our three children stayed in one of the deluxe cabins and it FAR exceeded any expectations that we had. The cabin was very clean and contrary to another review that I read, the sites were anything but 'hodge podge'... There was plenty of room for privacy, but close enough to enjoy neighboring campers if desired. The layout of each site was absolutely fantastic. In fact, our last evening we were able to maintain a fire for hours despite torrential downpour because of the placement of the fire ring and felt only minimal drops fall through the leaves. There are a lot of homey touches that the owners have implemented such as swings, hammocks, string lights etc... It was fun to walk through the entire campground just to see the different set ups. Also, contrary to another negative review, the grounds were anything but run down. Everything was beautiful... There is a HUGE play area for the kids, a swimming pool, a volleyball court, basketball hoop, tetherball, bouncy house, giant Twister set up, horse shoes, cornhole, giant Jenga, as well as a variety of other games and ever changing events hosted by the staff, a dog park and a petting zoo!! The store itself had everything you'd need that you may have forgot and the staff is AMAZING!!! They were over the top accommodating and so friendly. We will absolutely be back and would recommend this campground 1000x over. If you go here, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Joel, Lydia and everyone else that helped to provide our family with such a great experience!!!
We ended up here because of a reservation snafu elsewhere, and let's just say we booked again already! Beautiful place, tucked back in the Manistee National Forest. Very quiet, perfect camping. And the staff was phenomenal! Very cordial, lots of great activities for everyone, including wine tasting for the big kids! Can't wait to go back!
From the moment you arrive to the time you leave, this place is beautiful. The length in between those times melts and blends together with the hospitality of the owners and the serenity of the surrounding national forests.
